Woman Uses Stolen ID To Get $52K SUV From Northern Westchester Auto Dealer, DA Says
A 30-year-old woman has become the latest person arrested after a string of thefts from auto dealers in Westchester. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced the arrest on Tuesday in the theft of a Toyota SUV from a Mount Kisco car dealership using a stolen identity. Shamakia Walker turned herself into Mount Kisco Police Sunday. She was arraigned in Village of Mount Kisco Justice Court on two charges: grand larceny in the second degree, a Class C felony, and identity theft in the first degree, a Class D felony. Police in New Milford have issued an alert regarding a 1968 gray Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 that was last seen at the Bennett Automotive auto body shop on Danbury Road before it was allegedly stolen. According to police, the Mustang was last seen at the auto shop on Oct. 3, 2016, when it was listed for sale. The investigation into the stolen vehicle is ongoing. A accused shoplifter scooped up by Wyckoff police turned out to be an ex-con from Michigan with a nearly 40-year criminal record who was wanted in Florida, records show. Sgt. Police have released surveillance photos of a van believed to have been used to steal BMW rims from a Rockland business. Ramapo PD detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Ford Ecoline van that was used at approximately 1 a.m. on April 16 to steal the rims from a business. Two Range Rovers Stolen In New Canaan
New Canaan Police have a simple message for residents. If you leave your keys in your car and don't lock it, chances are you'll be looking for a new one. Police reported that two Range Rovers were stolen on Valley Road Thursday. In both cases, keys were left in the cars with both cars unlocked. "If you don't lock your car and remove your keys," police said. "You will lose it."

A Greenwich man trying to sell his used Jeep Cherokee was surprised when a man test driving the vehicle with his young daughter never came back. PATERSON, N.J. – Nine men from Paterson were charged with burglarizing a Clifton auto dealer twice and stealing vehicles from eight other dealerships in four counties while using juveniles as accomplices, authorities announced Thursday.
