Some New Jersey residents were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and the Perseid Meteor Shower, visible between 1:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12. Some of them lit up social media with their footage. Maywood's Jocelyn Husslein Dies, 63 Maywood resident Jocelyn Husslein died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 10, while surrounded by family, her obituary on the Vander Plaat Memorial Home website says. She was 63 years old. Jocelyn's husband, Lyle Saperstiein, said in a Facebook post that she died after a two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. In addition to Lyle, Jocelyn is survived by her children, Nadine and her husband, David, and her sons, Frederik Lester and his husband, Andrew, and Kyle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mikayla, Nina, and Noah. She was born to Pedro and Leda Martir, and was a loving …

Sgt. Richard Sbarra was on White Horse Pike (Route 30) in the Atco section of Waterford when he hit Christofe “Christopher” Wita, 44, of Berlin on Nov. 23, 2023, NJ Attorney General Matthew Platkin previously said. Bodycam footage and radio transmissions from the incident were released last month. Erin Garofalo last spoke to her family on the phone on Thursday,  July 25, police in Manchester said. Philadelphia Motorcyclist Killed By Hit-Run Driver In South Jersey, Police Say A Philadelphia motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday, Aug. 10 in Burlington County, NJ, police said. Gladerby Bredy was found lying along the south shoulder of Arney’s Mount Road in Pemberton after being struck by a vehicle just after 10:40 p.m., Chief Jon Glass said. Bredy had been heading west on North Pemberton Road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle on Arney's Mount Road, Glass said.
