300-Year-Old NJ Restaurant Closing For Renovations A New Jersey restaurant open for more than 300 years will temporarily close for renovations. The Black Horse Tavern & Pub, located on W. Main Street in Mendham, bills itself as the state's oldest continually running restaurant, dating back to 1742. Over the weekend, the eatery, which serves American classics, said it will be undergoing temporary closure for renovations. "Get ready for a brand-new kitchen and a fresh look!" the Facebook post reads. "We're excited to unveil these upgrades to you." Black Horse Tavern & Pub will hold a grand reopening in Fall 2024.

Dump Truck Overturns Onto Passenger Car On Route 80, State Police Say An overturned dump truck shut down a portion of Route 80 in Morris County Friday morning, Feb. 23. The Peterbilt dump truck was heading west near milepost 36.6 when the driver lost directional control and subsequently overturned onto an Infiniti passenger vehicle at 9:20 a.m. in Rockaway, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The driver and passenger of the Infiniti sustained minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.
