Mount Vernon School District Mourns Fourth-Grade Student 'Taken Far Too Soon' A school district in Westchester is mourning the untimely loss of a young boy.  The Mount Vernon City School District announced the death of fourth-grade student Ayman Yahaya Luwaa on Thursday, Feb. 1.  According to district officials, Luwaa died on Tuesday morning, Jan. 30. Crews Repairing Pot Holes On State Roads In Somers Crews are taking advantage of the rain-free weather to make much-needed repairs to Northern Westchester roadways.  In an announcement on Thursday, Feb. 1, the New York State Department of Transportation said that crews are "aggressively" patching state roadways while the weather allows them to.  Some of the roadways being patched include Route 118 in Somers and the Sprain Brook Parkway, officials said on social media.  Anyone who encounters a pothole on state roadways is asked to call 800-POTHOLE to report them.
