Life Insurance Scam: Police Warn Of Fake Letters From Law Firms In Hudson Valley Authorities in the Hudson Valley are warning of scammers who have been sending letters to residents asking them to claim false life insurance policies. The warning, issued by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Friday, May 26, was prompted after a resident received a letter from a scammer claiming to be from a Canadian law firm. Pair Of Take 5 Top-Prize-Winning Tickets Sold In Hartsdale, South Salem Two lucky lottery players have struck it big just in time for the beginning of summer after purchasing top-prize-winning tickets in Westchester. The two winning Take 5 tickets were sold for the drawing on Wednesday evening, May 31, and were both worth $18,197, according to New York Lottery. The two tickets were sold at the following locations: The A-Plus store in Hartsdale at 17 North Central Ave.; The Vista Market in South Salem located at 469 Smithridge Rd. Take-5 drawings are televised twice a day at both 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Nails, Splintered Wood Fall From Car, Cause Road Closure In Croton-On-Hudson A busy main road in Northern Westchester had to be closed to traffic after nails and splintered wood fell from a vehicle onto the roadway. 8-Year-Old In Cardiac Arrest Saved By First Responders In Hudson Valley An 8-year-old girl who went into cardiac arrest at a gymnastics facility in the Hudson Valley was saved thanks to quick action from police and first responders who knew exactly what to do.
