Duo Used Stolen Credit Cards To Buy Target Gifts Cards In Capital Region, Police Say Police in the region are asking for help in identifying two people wanted in connection with a grand larceny investigation involving stolen credit cards. The credit cards were in a purse that was stolen in Columbia County from La Bella’s Restaurant in Valatie in September 2022, according to State Police. Those same cards were later used to purchase gift cards at a Rensselaer County Target store, located in East Greenbush. Police did not reveal how much money was added to the gift cards. Passenger Busted With Illegal Gun, Ammunition During Traffic Stop On Long Island, Police Say A traffic stop on Long Island ended with a passenger in handcuffs on weapons charges. Officers in New Cassel stopped a Dodge Charger at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, near Prospect and Magnolia avenues due to a suspended registration, according to Nassau County Police. While speaking with the driver, a man in the passenger seat, 38-year-old Ishmel Cohen, of Brooklyn, began acting suspiciously and officers asked him to exit the vehicle. Joshua Mellado-Gonzalez, age 32, and Mauricio Fuentes-Jimenez, age 31, both of Queens Village, were arrested by Nassau County Police on Thursday, Dec. 29. Tree Service Worker Falls To Death In Capital Region A tree service worker has died after falling from a tree in the Capital Region, authorities said. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called at around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, with reports that a man had fallen from a tree in the Town of Wilton on Mt. McGregor Road, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
