Atlantic City Robbery Fugitive Arrested At Egg Harbor City Train Station, Police Say
A Galloway Township man wanted in an Atlantic City robbery was taken into custody on a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. Manuel Alicea, 30, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 26, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. He was captured on the train at the Egg Harbor City station. Police said Alicea was a fugitive wanted for pistol-whipping a man on the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Motorcyclist Killed In Late Night Crash In Washington Township, State Police Say
A Lanoka Harbor man died when his motorcycle crashed late at night in Burlington County, authorities said. Andrew Uveges, 31, was killed in the wreck on County Route 542 in Washington Township on Sunday, Aug. 25, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the scene near milepost 14.8 at around 9:58 p.m. Investigators said Uveges was riding west on a Harley-Davidson when his motorcycle went off the road to the right and overturned. Three people were facing charges after an Atlantic City convenience store clerk was caught selling drugs, authorities said. In a news release on Monday, Aug. 26, the Atlantic City Police Department said 35-year-old Cecil Monroe of Atlantic City, 58-year-old Tariq Mehmood of Egg Harbor Township, and 39-year-old Yasmin Faheem of Atlantic City were charged in the case. Opening Date Set For New Shake Shack Restaurant In Middletown
An opening date has been set for the new Shake Shack restaurant in Middletown. A spokesperson said the Shake Shack at 1149 Route 35 will officially open on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. The restaurant is replacing Moe's Southwest Grill at the location. The "first wave" of customers will get custom Shake Shack tote bags and stickers. A man was injured by what appeared to be a ray's tail at a beach in Ventnor City, officials said. The man suffered a hand injury at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, the Ventnor City Beach Patrol said. He received first-aid treatment at the scene. A beach in Cape May was shut down after a man was found dead, authorities said. Cape May police found the roughly 50-year-old man's body early in the morning on Monday, Aug. 26, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release.
