Driver Disregarded Crossing Gates Before Being Killed By Train In Lincoln Park: Officials A driver was killed after being struck by an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 28 in Morris County, authorities said. Montclair-Boonton Line train 1074 struck the vehicle at the Ryerson Road crossing in Lincoln Park just before 9:30 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. A preliminary investigation found that the crossing gates were working as intended and were in the down position when the driver drove the vehicle around the gates and positioned the vehicle into the path of the train, Mulumba said. Glenpointe Marriott In Teaneck Gets Event Space Upgrades The Glenpointe Marriott in Teaneck just got a major upgrade. The project included the replacement of carpeting, wall coverings, paint and furniture throughout the first and second-floor pre-function spaces, boardrooms, and meeting rooms, as well as the 1,200-person capacity ballroom, according to a press release from Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, which managed the project. Child Hospitalized After Being Saved By Firefighter In Monmouth County Apartment Blaze A child was hospitalized with injuries suffered in a two-alarm fire that ripped through a Monmouth County apartment complex Saturday, Oct. 26, authorities said. Firefighters were called to the 1400 block of Rustic Drive in Middlebrook, for a report of a fire inside one of the building’s apartments around 2:15 p.m., a spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office said. Man Killed In Fiery Overnight Newark Crash A man was killed in a fiery crash early Sunday, Oct. 27 in Newark, police said. The male driver was found inside a vehicle that caught fire after crashing into a tree and colliding through a nearby residential gate at Weequahic Avenue near Bergen Street around 3:30 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Firefighters extinguished the fire and the man was pronounced dead. No other injuries have been reported. No further information is available.

Armed Man Killed By Police In Willow Grove Apartment, DA Says A 68-year-old armed man was shot and killed by police in Montgomery County on Sunday morning, Oct. 27, authorities said. Upper Moreland police were called to a home at the Commerce Square Apartments in Willow Grove for a domestic disturbance where an 83-year-old resident let them inside around 11:50 a.m., MontCo District Attorney Kevin Steele said. Driver Flees From Crash That Killed Passenger On Route 9 In Woodbridge: Prosecutor A 47-year-old North Plainfield man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Woodbridge on Saturday, Oct. 25 in which the driver had fled from, authorities said. Mario Ortiz Bonilla was found dead in the front passenger's seat of the 2017 Kia Sportage on Route 9 and Green Street in Woodbridge just after 9:05 a.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge PD Director Robert Hubner said. Death Of Maywood Woman Not Considered Suspicious: Prosecutor Authorities have identified the 62-year-old woman found dead in a bedroom of her Bergen County home this weekend. Police performing a wellness check found Brigitte Santhouse dead in a bedroom of her home in Maywood Friday, Oct. 25, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Records show Sanhouse lived on Maybrook Drive, located within the Maywood Gardens, a garden apartment complex. Police said the circumstances around her death do not appear suspicious.

Boy With Autism, Father Reunited By Paramus Police After Jarring 2 Hours Police officers in Paramus reunited a 13-year-old boy with autism and his father after the boy wandered off from the family home Sunday morning, Oct. 27, authorities said.
