'We Almost Lost Noah': Victim In Triple Stabbing Outside Long Island Business Remains In ICU A young man is facing a “very long road” to recovery after surviving a stabbing attack outside a Long Island business that also sent two other men to the hospital. The attack happened early Sunday, June 11 in Bay Shore, in a parking lot outside the Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub on East Main Street. Capital Region Man Strangled Wife To Death, Jury Finds More than two years after a woman from the region was strangled to death, her husband has been convicted of her murder. A Rensselaer County jury found 37-year-old Taquan Evans, of Troy, guilty of second-degree murder on May 24, in the death of his wife Georlasia Evans. The Rensselaer County DA’s Office announced the verdict on Wednesday, June 14. According to prosecutors, Evans strangled his wife before dropping her off at Samaritan Hospital on Jan. 15, 2021. 2 Killed In Long Island Crash Involving Hampton Jitney Bus Two people are dead after a motorcycle collided with a charter bus during the evening commute on Long Island. Emergency crews in Greenport were called shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, with reports of a crash at the intersection of State Route 25 and Moores Lane. New York DA Accuses Lawmakers Of 'Protecting Criminals' With Proposed 'Clean Slate' Bill A local prosecutor in New York is blasting state lawmakers over proposed legislation that would automatically seal most criminal convictions. The so-called “Clean Slate Act" was introduced by State Senator Zellnor Myrie, a Democrat whose 20th Senate District includes parts of Brooklyn. Man Set Fire That Destroyed Garage, Damaged Apartment In Capital Region, Police Say A 61-year-old man is accused of intentionally starting a fire that destroyed a garage and heavily damaged an apartment building in the region. Rensselaer County resident Paul Coleman, of the Town of Grafton, was arraigned on an arson charge in Rensselaer County Court on Friday, June 9.
