Long Island resident Matthew Kyrillidis, of East Northport, died Thursday, Sept. 29, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given. Fulton County resident Gladys Griffith, age 49, of Perth, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 6, following an investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. In his ruling Thursday, Oct. 1, US District Judge Glenn Suddaby in the Northern District of New York allowed a lawsuit from the advocacy group, Gun Owners of America, to move forward. Drunk Driver Nabbed After Striking Stopped Car, Fleeing In Capital Region, Police Say A Capital Region man is facing charges after allegedly driving drunk and hitting a stopped vehicle before fleeing the scene, authorities said. State police in Saratoga County were called at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, with reports of a two-car crash in Corinth on Stark Road. Investigators determined that a vehicle with two people inside was stopped on the shoulder when 52-year-old Matthew Kingsley, of Corinth, struck the car head on and then fled the scene, police said. Man Killed In Industrial Accident In Capital Region Remembered As 'Friend You Could Count On' Friends and loved ones are mourning the loss of a man who was killed in an on-the-job accident at a rock quarry in the region. Rensselaer County resident Darren Miller, of Grafton, died Saturday, Oct. 1, at the age of 35, according to his obituary. State police said Miller was working at R.J. Poll Sheds Light On Highly Contested Race In New NY Congressional District With just weeks left until Election Day, new polling shows that Democrat Josh Riley is leading his Republican opponent, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, in the highly contested race for New York’s new 19th Congressional District. Woman Threatened Man With Knife At Empire State Plaza, Police Say A woman is facing charges for allegedly threatening a man with a knife at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Albany Police were called shortly after noon on Thursday, Sept. 29 with reports of an altercation at the Madison Avenue entrance to the plaza, according to police. Argument Leads To Shooting At Long Island Home, Police Say A man is recovering after an argument led to a shooting at a Long Island home, authorities said. Nassau County Police responded to reports of a shooting at a home in Roosevelt, located on Madison Avenue, at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4.
