Woman Faces Charges After Barricading Herself In Northern Westchester Home, Police Say A Northern Westchester woman is facing charges after allegedly threatening a worker at her home. Police were called to the house on Gerard Court in Yorktown Tuesday, April 19, for a reported dispute between a resident and workers at the home, Yorktown Police said. Officers determined that the 44-year-old woman, whose name was not released, had pointed what appeared to be a gun at one of the workers and threatened to shoot him, police said. Man Seriously Injured In Single-Car Crash In Brookhaven A man was seriously injured in a single-car crash on Long Island. It happened in Brookhaven at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. The 61-year-old was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee heading southbound on Station Road in North Bellport when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole near Sunrise Highway, Suffolk County Police said. Former Police Officer In NY Sentenced For Bribery, Drug Trafficking A former New York City Police Department officer from Long Island who often referred to himself as “one of the most corrupt cops” in Queens is heading to federal prison for bribery and drug trafficking. Robert Smith, age 45, of Plainview, was sentenced to eight years behind bars Wednesday, April 20, in federal court in Brooklyn. Capital Region Woman Nabbed For Aggravated DWI An Albany County woman who drove off a roadway and crashed into a stone wall had a blood alcohol concentration of more than twice the legal limit to drive, New York State Police said. Erica Leskowsky, age 26, of Latham, was arrested Wednesday, April 20, after a trooper responded to the crash scene along Content Farm Road in Washington County. Capital Region Man Charged In Fatal Crash In Rensselaer County A Capital District man is accused of causing a DWI crash that left a man dead. Rensselaer County resident Dylan Densmore, age 26, of Poestenkill, was arrested Thursday, April 21, following the wreck on Highway 355 in Poestenkill, according to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. 16-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing In Capital Region A 16-year-old boy is facing attempted murder charges following a stabbing attack in Schenectady’s Central Park. The teen was arrested Wednesday, April 13, nearly a month after a 30-year-old Selkirk man was found sitting on a park bench suffering from multiple stab wounds, Schenectady police said. Missing 3-Year-Old Found Dead In Capital Region A Rensselaer County family is grieving the loss of their 3-year-old child after he was found dead in a swimming pool. The boy was reported missing Sunday, April 17, from a house on Oakhurst Street in Pleasantdale, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
