The incident happened on Feb. 19, in the central Cascade Mountains near Colchuck Lake, located 70 miles east of Seattle. Migrant Crisis: Asylum Seekers Arrive In Capital Region From NYC Dozens of asylum seekers have arrived in the Capital Region as part of New York City’s plan to temporarily house hundreds of migrants in hotels across the region. On Monday evening, May 29, a bus of approximately 40 male asylum seekers arrived at the Ramada Hotel in Albany, located on Watervliet Avenue, “at the direction of New York City,” a city spokesperson confirmed to Daily Voice. $5,000 Reward: Person Of Interest Sought In Woman's Killing At Capital Region Home Police are hoping that a cash reward will lead to a person of interest being sought in connection with a woman’s death in the region. Emergency crews in Schenectady were called shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, May 28, with reports of a woman in need of medical attention at a home on Pleasant Street. When officers and medics arrived at the home, they found 44-year-old Tishawn Folkes-Taylor unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Schenectady Police. 34-Year-Old 'Brazenly' Stole Cash Registers From Long Island Gas Stations, Punched Clerk: DA A man accused of robbing several gas stations and convenience stores on Long Island, punching a female clerk along the way, is facing multiple criminal charges. Jonathan Moore, age 34, of Brentwood, was arraigned on robbery and grand larceny charges in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, May 25. Don't Fall For It: Rental Scams Targeting Long Island Residents; Suspects Sought Police are warning house hunters to be on the lookout for scammers who are targeting would-be renters on Long Island. The warning comes after Suffolk County Police learned of two rental scams that occurred in Medford in March 2023.
