PA Resident Dies In NJ Turnpike Crash A Pennsylvania resident died Monday in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The driver of a BMW X3 was traveling west in the left lane near milepost 0.9 in Florence Township (Burlington County) around 12:40 a.m. when he struck the center barrier, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. One of the rear passengers, Manjulaben Suresh Patel, 67, of Willow Grove, PA died. The driver and three other passengers were not seriously injured. The crash remains under investigation.

Valintine Meredith was arrested Friday on firearm and drug-related charges, as well as criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and robbery, according to the Reading Police Department. Meredith is accused of fatally shooting Tyre Little in the 200 block of Pearl Street around 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 12, police said. He was taken to Reading Central Court and is being held pending arraignment.

Hillside Man Struck Gas Attendant With Crowbar In Violent Robbery, Police Say A Hillside man was arrested for striking a gas attendant with a crowbar during a robbery last month, authorities said. The worker was inside a booth at the Express Fuel on Route 22 west on Aug. 2 when 38-year-old Quadiir Canty opened the door and struck him on the head with a crowbar, Hillside police detective Natalie Ogonowski said. Canty then took money from the attendant’s pants pocket and fled the scene. The worker was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
