Woman Charged With Prostitution At Vacant Centereach Store: Police A woman was arrested after an investigation into community complaints about activity at a vacant store on Long Island on Tuesday night, Sept. 8, authorities said. Suffolk County Sixth Precinct Crime Unit officers conducted the investigation at the store at 14 Dawn Drive and arrested Weiyan Jiang around 8 p.m. Jiang, 43, of Centereach, was charged with misdemeanor prostitution. She was issued a desk appearance ticket and is due to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip at a later date. E-Scooter Rider Critically Hurt In North Long Beach Crash: Police A 30-year-old man suffered a severe head injury after being thrown from a high-performance electric scooter on Long Island, police said. The man was riding a Teewing electric scooter south on Austin Boulevard in North Long Beach around 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, when he suddenly stopped at Saratoga Boulevard and was ejected over the handlebars, according to Long Beach police. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Police did not release his name.
