Former Fire Chief Of Hudson Valley Department Dies A fire department in the Hudson Valley has announced the death of one of its former chiefs.  In a social media post on Sunday, Feb. 4, the Brewster Fire Department in Putnam County announced the death of former Chief and Commissioner Thomas Palmer.  Palmer led the department from 1996 to 1998, the department said.  More information about Palmer's death, including funeral arrangements, has not yet been announced.  This is a developing story. Alarm System At Hillview Reservoir In Yonkers To Be Tested: Here's Where, When Officials have announced when residents can expect to hear the sound of sirens near a reservoir in Westchester. The next quarterly test of the sitewide alarm system at Hillview Reservoir in Yonkers is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m., according to Yonkers Councilman John Rubbo.  During the drill, the alarms will sound for around five minutes. A notification throughout the system that says "This is just a test" will be given just before the alarms sound, Rubbo said. The test is a regularly scheduled drill.
