Lafferty's Kia Optima veered off the 3500 block of West Malaga Road into the oncoming lane of traffic before hitting a landscaping stone, several mailboxes and a tree before coming to rest in Franklin Township Saturday night, March 2, local police said. Lafferty was hospitalized where he was pronounced dead while his 41-year-old male passenger suffered a possible broken wrist, police said. Virginia Abductor Who Sexually Assaulted Near-Stranger In His Car Captured: Police A 38-year-old Prince William County man was arrested after police say he sexually assaulted a woman riding in his car in November 2023. Farhad Mansoori, of Woodbridge, met his victim, a woman, on Nov. 10, 2023, police in Prince William County said. The following day, the woman was riding in Mansoori's car when he drove to an area on Touchstone Circle and sexually assaulted her, then dropped her off somewhere else, county police said March 4, 2024. Mansoori has been charged with abduction and sexual battery. He was being held without bond.

Hours-Long Manhunt For Chainsaw-Wielding Man Ends In Stafford An hours-long manhunt for a chainsaw-wielding burglary suspect ended successfully Monday, March 4 in Stafford County, authorities said. Shawn Kimmitz of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said the man, who had tried breaking into a home on Musselman Road around 7 a.m., was captured at Rappahannock Landing in the mid-morning hours. The suspect, whose name was not released, also had a hammer and tried breaking into a car on another block nearby. Additional information is expected to be released.
