Armed Robbers Hit Post Office In Waccabuc, Police Say Police are investigating an armed robbery of a post office in Northern Westchester. On Tuesday, Jan. 10, around 4:30 p.m., police in Waccabuc responded to the post office located at 2 Post Office Rd. to a reported armed robbery, according to Lewisboro Police. No injuries were reported from the robbery. Police were still on the scene as of around 7 p.m., and are still investigating the incident. 'Difficult Decision': Superintendent Of New Rochelle School District Resigns After 2 Years The superintendent of a Westchester County school district has announced that he will be leaving his position. New Rochelle superintendent Jonathan Raymond will step down from his position at the end of the 2022-23 school year, he announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Man Shot Dead By Officers To Stop Him From Stabbing Woman In Hudson Valley, Authorities Say A man was fatally shot by police in the Hudson Valley in an effort to prevent him from killing a woman after abducting her, according to authorities. On Tuesday, Jan. 10, around 9:45 a.m., agencies in Putnam County responded to a domestic violence incident in Kent that involved an abduction, according to Captain Michael Grossi of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Car Flips On Side, Closing Hudson Valley Road A crash in the Hudson Valley left a car perched on its side and a road closed for a period of time. On Friday, Jan. 6, around 4 p.m., officials in Putnam County responded to an accident in Mahopac on Clark Place for a reported vehicle rollover, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. Luckily, no injuries were reported. The road was closed for a half hour as crews worked to clear the scene, officials said.

Firefighters Battle House Fire, Ignited Propane Supply, Live Wires All At Once In CT A Connecticut house fire that also ignited a propane supply and knocked down power lines left one person injured. Fire Damages Peekskill Home A late morning basement fire sent firefighters in droves to a home in Northern Westchester. On Sunday, Jan. 8, around 11:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a residence in Peekskill on Crompond Road (Route 202) after smoke was seen coming out of the two-and-a-half-story home. Former School Principal From Bedford Dies After 'Courageous' ALS Battle A former elementary school principal from Northern Westchester has died after a hard-fought battle with ALS. Katonah resident David Wallick died on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the age of 60, according to his obituary.
