K9 Officer Finds Missing Man In Freezing Temperatures In Peekskill Tragedy was avoided when a K9 officer was able to track down an elderly man who went missing in Northern Westchester in freezing conditions. On Saturday, Dec. 24, around 1:45 a.m., police in Peekskill received a call from a man who said his 75-year-old father with Parkinson’s Disease and possible early stages of dementia had wandered from his home at the Society Hill II complex. Man Found Dead After House Fire In Somers A man was killed in a house fire in Northern Westchester, firefighters said. Updated Story - Police ID Man Who Died In House Fire In Somers The fire happened at a two-story residence in Somers on Barlow Court on Monday, Dec. 26 around 9:30 a.m., according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Former Village Of Mamaroneck Police Chief Dies On Christmas Day A former police chief who served a community in Westchester County for more than 40 years has died. Joseph DelBianco, the former chief of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, died on Sunday, Dec. 25 at the age of 93, according to his obituary. A member of the department for 43 years, DelBianco eventually became chief and led modernization efforts during his tenure, including the addition of computers in all police vehicles and the hiring of the village's first female officers. He also created the Bay Constable Position to run the village's Harbor Police Unit, his obituary said. …

Woman Stabs Partner In Neck On Christmas Eve In Yorktown, Police Say A Northern Westchester woman is charged with stabbing a victim in the back of the neck after a domestic dispute on Christmas Eve, police said. On Saturday, Dec. 24, around 3 a.m., police in Yorktown responded to a reported fight at a residence on Summit Street. Once arriving there, they found a victim bleeding from the back of their neck, Yorktown Police said. Eastchester Father Of 4, Owner Of Popular Pizzerias, Dies Suddenly At Age 52 The owner of several popular Westchester County pizzerias who could often be found enthusiastically cheering on his children at their little league games has died. Eastchester resident Mike Provenzale died on Friday, Dec. 23 at the age of 52, according to his obituary. Repeat Offender: Woman Charged With Second DWI After Crash In Yorktown, Police Say A woman charged with drunk driving after an accident in Northern Westchester was found to have a previous DWI conviction, police said. On Friday, Dec. 9, around 11:50 p.m., police in Yorktown responded to a single-vehicle accident on Granite Springs Road and determined that the driver had been operating the car while intoxicated, according to Yorktown Police.
