Stranded Driver In Capital Region Flees From Troopers, Strikes Cop Cars: Police They say no good deed goes unpunished, and that was apparently the case when New York State Police troopers stopped to help a stranded driver in the region. Troopers in Rensselaer County stopped at around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, to assist a disabled vehicle in the Town of Brunswick, on State Route 2. According to troopers, at some point during their interaction the driver, 52-year-old Michael Messier, of Troy, became uncooperative and ignored their commands. Messier then fled in his car, striking police vehicles in the process, troopers said. No troopers were injured in the ordeal. …

Foul Play: Video Shows Adult Baseball Player Attacking 15-Year-Old Over Ball At NY Park A New York man is facing assault charges after he was allegedly caught on video attacking a 15-year-old boy over a foul baseball. The incident happened Sunday, May 21, on Long Island, near the Greenlawn Skatepark in Suffolk County. Video shared on Facebook shows an adult baseball player attempting to grab something out of the teen’s pocket before he grabs the victim by his bicycle helmet and slams him into a railing. 20-Year-Old Tries Breaking Into Capital Region Home, Threatens To Shoot Homeowner: Police A 20-year-old man is facing more than a half dozen charges after allegedly threatening to shoot a homeowner in the region during an attempted break-in. Troopers in Rensselaer County were called at around midnight on Monday, May 29, with reports that a man was trying to force his way into a home located in the town of Brunswick. DWI Crash: Driver Was Nearly Four Times Legal Limit During Hit-Run Wreck In Region, Police Say A 54-year-old man from the region is facing DWI charges after allegedly causing a hit-and-run crash on a local roadway while heavily intoxicated Troopers in Saratoga County were called at around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, May 27, with reports of a hit-and-run crash in Milton, on Northline Road. Hero Who Saved Man, Pet From Capital Region Fire As Teen Dies At Age 36: 'A True Friend' Friends and loved ones are mourning the death of a man from the region who was once hailed as a hero for saving another man’s life. Rensselaer County resident Jacob Waldron, of Rensselaer, died in May 2023 at the age of 36, according to his obituary.
