High-End Heist: Trio Nabs $31K In Handbags From Long Island Louis Vuitton Police are seeking tips after three people stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of handbags from a Louis Vuitton store on Long Island. The theft occurred Feb. 22 in Huntington Station, at the Walt Whitman Shops, according to Suffolk County Police. Detectives said two women and a man stole seven handbags valued at approximately $31,000. The trio then fled in a 2014 Chevy Impala with New Jersey license plate E77-PEM. Expect Delays: Weeks Of Full Closures Scheduled On Long Island Expressway Drivers are being warned about weeks of overnight closures scheduled for a portion of the Long Island Expressway. Beginning Monday, April 10, both directions of I-495 will be closed nightly at exit 65 (Suffolk County Route 16) in the Town of Brookhaven from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the Department of Transportation. 18-Year-Old Dies In Single-Car Crash In Capital Region An 18-year-old man died following a single-car crash on a highway in the region. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, with reports of a fatal crash on Route 9G in Germantown, according to State Police. The incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in Brentwood, on I-495 near Sagtikos Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police.
