Naquel Matao Henderson, 28, a three-time convicted felon from the District, was sentenced to 56 months in prison on Tuesday, April 14, in US District Court after a street robbery in Northeast turned violent, prosecutors said.

Anthony Peterson, 53, pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the death of William Merrihew in the wreck, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Peterson, of Schenectady, was driving on New Karner Road in Colonie around 7 a.m. on Sept. 16, 2025, when he crossed the double yellow line and struck Merrihew’s vehicle head-on, according to investigators.

At 8:42 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of JFK Parkway and Fineran Way, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Millburn Police Chief Brian Gilfedder said.
