Truck Careens Into Wooded Ditch In Somers A truck had to be towed from a roadside embankment after losing control and careening off a Northern Westchester road.  The incident happened on Tuesday, Nov. 7 around 7:20 a.m., when the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to Van Rensselaer Road for a reported crash.  According to the department, arriving crews confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the crash. Units then worked for around two hours to remove the truck from the wooded embankment.  The cause of the crash was not revealed by authorities.

Ramp Between Interstate 287, Sprain Brook Parkway To Close In Greenburgh: Here's When A ramp connecting Interstate 287 to a busy parkway in Westchester is set to close during an upcoming weeknight.  The ramp from eastbound Interstate 287 to the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh will close between 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 through 5 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.  The closure will allow crews to perform maintenance on the ramp, officials said.  Motorists in the area are asked to use the posted detour as an alternate route during the closure.

Alert Issued For 15-Year-Old Girl Missing For More Than Week In Mount Vernon Authorities in Westchester are asking for the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for over a week.  Mount Vernon Police issued an alert on Tuesday, Nov. 7 for 15-year-old Saniya Valdez, who has been missing since Friday, Oct. 27. Valdez is described as 5-foot-6 and weighing around 150 pounds. Person Hospitalized After Head-On Crash In Somers A head-on collision on a busy Northern Westchester roadway sent one person to the hospital, fire officials said. The incident happened on Monday, Nov. 6 just after 2:15 p.m., when first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Route 100 and Moseman Avenue in Somers for a two-car crash, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.  After arriving at the scene of the wreck, first responders took one patient to a nearby hospital.
