Duo Nabbed For Smuggling Contraband Into Sing Sing Correctional Facility For Money: DA Two men, including a correction officer, are accused of working to smuggle contraband into a Northern Westchester prison in exchange for payment, officials announced. Passenger Caught With Firearm, Ammunition in Checked Bag At Bradley Airport A passenger was arrested after they were caught with a firearm and numerous rounds in their checked bag at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, officials said. The incident happened in Hartford County on Monday, Oct. 30, when Transportation Security Administration officers at the airport, located in Windsor Locks, discovered an improperly packaged 9mm firearm inside the person's checked bag, TSA New England announced. Lane Closures: Sprain Brook Parkway In Mount Pleasant To Be Affected For Week A series of lane closures will snag traffic on a parkway in Northern Westchester for a week, officials announced. Single- and double-lane closures will begin in both directions on the Sprain Brook Parkway between the Taconic State Parkway and Interstate 287 in Mount Pleasant on Friday, Nov. 3, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closures will be put into place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays through Friday, Nov. 10, officials added. The lane closures will give crews the opportunity to perform roadway work.

Drunk Driver Nabbed After Leaving Scene Of Crash In Yorktown: Police A 46-year-old man faces drunk driving charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash in Northern Westchester, police said. The arrest stemmed from an incident on Saturday, Oct. 28 just after 8:30 p.m., when Yorktown Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sagamore Avenue. According to the department, one of the involved vehicles had driven away from the scene. Woman Hospitalized After 50-Foot Fall At Croton-On-Hudson Hiking Trail Thanks to quick action from first responders, a woman was rescued from a Northern Westchester hiking trail after falling up to 50 feet down an embankment, fire officials said.
