Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Road In Millwood Firefighters had to use a supply of thousands of gallons of water to extinguish a car fire on a busy Northern Westchester road.  The incident happened on Saturday, Jan. 20 around 1:30 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire in Millwood on Route 100 (Somerstown Turnpike) in the area of Random Farms Drive.  According to the Millwood Fire Department, arriving crews found all of the vehicle's occupants outside of the car and began stretching a line to begin putting out the blaze.  To make sure there was enough water to put out the fire, another tanker soon arrived with an additional…

Ramp Between Cross County, Hutchinson River Parkways In Mount Vernon To Close: Here's When Motorists are being warned that a ramp between two busy parkways in Westchester will be affected by upcoming closures.  The ramp from the eastbound Cross County Parkway to Exit 9 (southbound Hutchinson River Parkway) in Mount Vernon will close between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on both Monday, Jan. 22, and Wednesday, Jan. 24, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.  Motorists traveling in the area are asked to use the posted detour as an alternative route.  The closure will allow crews to perform guide rail repairs, officials said.

Driver Injured In Crash On Busy Road In Millwood A driver was injured after crashing into an embankment alongside a busy Northern Westchester road.  The incident happened on Friday, Jan. 19 just before 7 p.m., when a vehicle crashed into an embankment next to Route 100 in Millwood, according to the Millwood Fire Department.  Fire crews and police soon arrived at the scene and found that the driver had suffered cuts to their face. First responders from the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps then provided medical care to the driver while firefighters removed debris to allow the vehicle to be towed away. 2 People Injured In Head-On Crash In Hudson Valley Two people were injured in a head-on collision in the Hudson Valley that left two cars severely damaged.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, Jan. 19 around 2:45 p.m., when two cars collided on Crane Road (Route 32) in the area of Fini Drive in Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  Two people were taken to a hospital after the crash by first responders, firefighters said.
