Much-Loved Brewery Permanently Closes In Peekskill After One Last Event A brewery in Northern Westchester that served as the site of countless beloved memories for visitors has closed for good. Peekskill Brewery, located at 47 South Water St. in Peekskill, announced its permanent closure on Monday, Nov. 27 in a post on social media. Lane Closure To Affect Stretch Of Hutch Between Pelham, Rye For Week A long stretch of a parkway in Westchester is set to be affected by lane reductions in order to allow crews to perform work, officials announced. 19-Year-Old Nabbed After Firing Off Shots At Storefronts In Mount Vernon: Police A 19-year-old man faces several charges after firing shots on a public street in Westchester, damaging storefronts in the process, officials announced. Port Chester resident Tyshawn Watkins, age 19, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in connection with an incident on Friday, Nov. 17 in Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon Director of Communications Timothy Allen said. Person Hospitalized After Hitting Deer On Busy Road In Croton-On-Hudson A serious crash involving a deer resulted in both a person being hospitalized and the brief closure of a busy Northern Westchester road. The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 23 around 8:30 p.m., when a car struck a deer on the Croton Point overpass on southbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Overnight Closure: Ramp Between Cross County, Bronx River Parkways In Yonkers To Be Affected Motorists are being warned that a ramp connecting two busy parkways in Westchester will be subject to an overnight closure. The ramp from the westbound Cross County Parkway to the northbound Bronx River Parkway (Exit 6) in Yonkers will close on Monday, Nov. 27 at 11 p.m., the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The ramp will then reopen at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, officials said. The closure is to allow for ramp maintenance. Motorists should use the posted detour as an alternate route.
