Popular Eatery To Open First Location In Hartsdale A popular cookie company known for unique flavors of sweets is set to open its first location in Westchester. A new Crumbl Cookies location will open in Hartsdale at the Dalewood Shopping Center on North Central Avenue, Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced this week. 3rd Starbucks Location In CT To File Petition To Unionize A Starbucks location in Branford has filed a petition to unionize after employees cited unpredictable hours and income changes. The coffee shop, located at 6 North Main St. (Route 1), has officially submitted a petition to unionize with Starbucks Workers United to the National Labor Relations Board, according to an announcement by Starbucks Workers United from Tuesday, Feb. 21. Long Section Of Route 6/202 To Close In Cortlandt A long section of a major state route in Northern Westchester will soon close, requiring affected travelers to navigate a detour to get around it. On Thursday, Feb. 23 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., the eastbound lane of US Route 6/202 (Bear Mountain Bridge Road) will close in Cortlandt between State Route 9D and US Route 9, according to the New York Department of Transportation. Man Threatened To 'Shoot Up Graduation' At Stratford School For Aviation, Police Say A man faces charges after threatening to harm students at a school in Fairfield County, police said. Police first learned of the threats on Friday, Feb. 17 around 6 p.m., when two people told state troopers that a student at the Stratford School for Aviation had made the comments at the school, state police said. CT Little League Administrator Dies At 49: 'Would Drop What He Was Doing To Help' A Massachusetts native who was heavily involved in the Connecticut State Little League organization has died at the age of 49. Tolland County resident Everett Demers of Coventry died on Friday, Feb. 17 at the age of 49, according to his obituary. Born in Worcester in 1974, Demers spent much of his childhood in Daytona Beach, Florida before coming back to New England in his late twenties where he worked for Abel Womack as a forklift manager and customer service manager. Driver Hospitalized, Main Road Closed In Hudson Valley After Crash A person was taken to a hospital after a one-car crash that shut down a main road in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Feb. 21 around 6:45 p.m., when firefighters in Mahopac were sent to the area of State Route 6N and Boniello Drive to respond to the collision. Cat Stuck In Tree: Pet Rescue Gives Firefighters Chance To Train In Croton-On-Hudson While it may seem the stuff of old television shows and cartoons, a fire department was actually called to help rescue a cat stuck in a tree in Northern Westchester. The brave rescue happened at a residence in Croton-on-Hudson on Sunday, Feb. 12, around 10:30 a.m., when a local cat climbed a tree to get away from circling hawks and could not find a way to get down again, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Lane Closures To Affect I-684 In North Salem A series of planned lane closures will affect traffic on Interstate 684 in the Hudson Valley. The closures will affect I-684 in both Westchester and Putnam Counties, between Exit 8 in North Salem (Hardscrabble Road) and Exit 9 in Brewster (Interstate 84), according to the New York Department of Transportation.
