2 Teens Hospitalized After Car Slides Into Tree, Fence In Berks County Two teenagers were injured after a car slid off a wet road and struck a tree and fence in Berks County on Christmas Day, authorities said. The car was headed north on Rake Road in Centre Township when it slid through a curve, crossed into the oncoming lane, and struck a tree off the road at 7 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police said in a Jan. 5 news release. North Penn School District Teacher, Lehigh Valley Native Dies After Covid-19 Battle A longtime teacher with the North Penn School District died Christmas Day after a battle with COVID-19. Andrew G. Jenkins, 47, was fully vaccinated when he died after a "short bout" with the virus, his obituary says. He had been working as a teacher at Pennfield Middle School in Hatfield for 15 years, according to his obit. Popular Walmart Store In Philly Closes Due To COVID A Philadelphia Walmart store has temporarily closed amid the winter rise in COVID-19 cases and the surge of the Omicron variant, 6abc reports. Newark Man Gunned Down In Irvington A 34-year-old man died in an Irvington shooting Monday evening, authorities said. Kevin L. Williams, of Newark, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Cleremont Avenue around 7 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Gunman Sought In Falls Township Road Rage Shooting: Police Police in Falls Township are on the hunt for a gunman who fired shots at a vehicle during what they are calling a road rage incident Monday morning.
